United for Patent Reform submitted a statement to the Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on Intellectual Property ahead of their June 22 hearing on, "The Patent Trial and Appeal Board: Examining Proposals to Address Predictability, Certainty, and Fairness." UFPR's statement walked through the inter partes review (IPR) process, its purpose, and its benefits. We testified that, "The [inter partes] review process benefits all businesses – those that bring the IPR itself to invalidate a patent that was granted in error, and those that are permitted to continue their use of a product or service unimpeded with its invalidation."
